Dr. Walter J. Hubickey (Col. (R), USA) joins the Huntsville Center For Sight as the Director of Refractive Surgery. He comes to us with extensive experience in this particular field after his last assignment as Chief of Ophthalmology and Refractive Surgery at the Army’s newest and busiest Medical Center in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, which is often referred to as the center of the military universe.
As the director of the first and largest refractive surgery program in the military, Dr. Walter J. Hubickey and his staff performed over 16,000 laser vision corrective operations on the most demanding patients, such as those from the Special Forces (Green Berets), Army Rangers, The 82nd Airborne Division (All American), Special Ops Aviation, and others from around the military globe. The success of his program has led the U.S. Congress and the Department of Defense to increase the budget and expand this program throughout the military.
